My Favorite Podcasts

Meg, Clark, Dave, Kaelyn, and Chris. No these are not the newest members of the Paw Patrol or the latest Disney characters that every parent should know about. These are the hosts to some of my favorite podcasts. They have helped me save money, be a better mom, and get my side hustle going. If you want to add to your listening pleasure, then these five are for you.
I’ll start with Meg Meeker. Her podcast called Parenting Great Kids with Dr. Meg Meeker has helped me tremendously throughout the years. She is a pediatrician, author, podcaster, and guest speaker. I’m able to glean from her mother insights while doing chores around the house. I just plug in my headphones, vacuum away and by the time the podcast is done, I feel much better about my motherhood journey. She offers judgment-free advice and really understands the parent struggle. She will not disappoint.
Next up is the Clark Howard Podcast. If you like saving money or knowing about the latest shopping deals, then this podcast is for you. Clark also talks about travel, scams, and consumer advocacy issues. He is one of the nicest people on the airwaves and his sense of humor is fabulous. The manageable twenty-five minute segments are a nice break to mommy life.
Then we have The Dave Ramsey Show. Dave has long been a financial expert and has helped literally millions of people get out of debt. He’s not a get-rich-quick guy. He’s a “the turtle wins the race” kind of guy.
His three-hour podcasts are broken into bite-size one-hour segments. That’s the perfect amount of time to listen when the baby is napping or waiting for your little one as they practice their cartwheels at gymnastics class.
The Spend Less to Live More podcast is up next. It is hosted by yours truly and my eight year old daughter, Kaelyn. We make finances fun and a family affair with short easy to understand fifteen minutes shows, perfect for listening with ages five and up.
Segments range from ways to save for retirement, travel, and college to best practices to invest and buy real estate. The podcast educates the listener on how to get out of debt using simple printable step by step guides, fun kid friendly crafts and trivia, and will teach you how to budget like a pro.
Last but certainly not least, is the Side Hustle School with Chris Guillebeau. This podcast helped inspire me to take my side gig, Spend Less to Live More, to the next level. Chris has written books and traveled around the globe spreading motivation about how to become an entrepreneur. His premise – Stop doing work you hate and start making money with your passion and skills. He interviews entrepreneurs who started with a small idea and are now bringing in a profit. One of my favs is Episode #598: A mom who brings in $12,000 in eight weeks doing crafts at her son’s elementary school.
There you have it. Five podcasts that inspire, entertain and educate. I’d love to hear what you’re listening to. Please comment to share your favorites.
